For nearly 30 years, Crossroads to Calvary Church has been a hub of Christian hope and practical help for families throughout Waldo County.
From the very beginning, our Food Pantry has provided weekly food assistance for local folks; since 2017, we have served as the Marine Corp Toys for Tots coordinator and distribution center here in Waldo County; and for the past decade or so, it has been our honor to distribute emergency financial aid through the Salvation Army— all of this from our Church facility.
But now, we’ve simply outgrown the space.
Every week, on average, approximately 50 families—primarily elderly individuals on fixed incomes—visit our Food Pantry for a supplemental supply of perishable and non-perishable goods, including hygiene items and household essentials. It adds up to approximately 250 different families served last year, and that number continues to grow. We’re incredibly thankful for this opportunity to serve—but our space is no longer sufficient.
At Christmastime, our Church transforms into a distribution center for Toys for Tots, and last year, thanks to the generosity of this Waldo County community, 450 children received gifts they might otherwise have gone without.
We also serve as Waldo County’s Salvation Army Service Unit, coordinating Red Kettle collections that raised over $4,200 last year to help 41 LOCAL families with immediate financial needs like heating, clothing, and groceries.
To better serve these ministries—and thereby, to better serve our neighbors—we are launching a building project: a multi-use building that will serve as:
This space will not only help us work much more efficiently and serve more families—it will save time and money, which we can reinvest into ministry.
We believe that God has entrusted us with this mission, and He has always provided through the generosity and faithfulness of His people. If you’ve ever donated food or funds, dropped a toy in a collection box, or placed a few coins in a red kettle—you’ve already been part of this story. And now we invite you to take the next step with us.
Will you prayerfully, or thoughtfully, consider making a contribution toward our new facility?
Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring donation, every dollar brings us closer to a space that reflects the size of our mission—and the heart behind it.
Together, let’s build a space where Jesus’s love and generosity have room to grow in this county.
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
